Emanuel Dantscher Conductor
EMANUEL DANTSCHER is a conductor and clarinetist with a strong commitment to artistic excellence and a particular interest in exploring the social relevance of concert life – through interdisciplinary approaches and innovative formats. Since 2021, he has served as Artistic Director of the Kammerphilharmonie Lübeck, a young orchestra with a distinctive artistic profile and growing presence both regionally and nationally. Under his direction, the ensemble has significantly expanded its reach through intergenerational and interdisciplinary projects and has established long-term partnerships with schools, cultural institutions, and sponsors. Among his large-scale productions is a choreographed performance of Beethoven’s Eroica with more than 100 young dancers from diverse social backgrounds. His repertoire also regularly includes participatory projects as well as children’s and family concerts.
As a guest conductor, he has worked with numerous orchestras in the context of competitions, project-based invitations, and a state-wide support program for conducting students in Baden-Württemberg. These include the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Philharmonisches Orchester Lübeck, Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim, Georgisches Kammerorchester Ingolstadt, Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester Mannheim, Ensemble Konsonanz Bremen, Budapest Symphony Orchestra, and the Albanian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra. For a joint project with Ensemble Konsonanz, he received the “Concert of the Future” award at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre.
He has regularly appeared as conductor and assistant with the Landesjugendorchester NRW, directed the Lübeck Youth Symphony Orchestra for several years, and in 2023 took over the artistic direction of Hamburger Orchester’91 – an ambitious amateur orchestra that performs symphonic programs at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg’s Grand Hall.
Internationally, he has collaborated on several occasions with the Filarmónica del Café in Pereira (Colombia), an orchestra project supporting young musicians. His approach combines musical excellence with social inclusion, intercultural exchange, and educational responsibility.
As a clarinetist, he has received numerous awards, including prizes at the German University Competition and the DAAD Prize. He was a scholarship holder of the Possehl Foundation and Live Music Now, and has performed at festivals and academies such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the International Orchestra Academy at Teatro del Lago in Frutillar (Chile), and the Warsaw Autumn Festival, where he also appeared with the German Music Council’s selection ensemble.
He is a member of Leipzig’s Ensemble Tempus Konnex, an interdisciplinary group for contemporary music that is regularly active with international projects and its own events, such as the Ensemble Festival for Contemporary Music Leipzig.
Emanuel Dantscher studied orchestral conducting (M.M.) with Prof. Sebastian Tewinkel at the Trossingen University of Music, and clarinet (B.M. / M.M.) with Prof. Sabine Meyer and Prof. Reiner Wehle at the Lübeck University of Music.
